UX/UI Designer

BEOM is growing and we’re looking for a full-time UX/UI Designer to join us. 

We are looking for a designer with a keen interest in experience-led design and who loves finding creative ways to solve design challenges and deliver unforgettable customer experiences. You’ll be involved with the delivery of some major new digital applications and cutting-edge brand experiences across a range of areas, in particular the luxury sector. Because you’ll be working with a variety of global brands, across a diverse range of platforms, products and services – every project will bring new and interesting challenges. You’ll have the opportunity to design experiences for websites, apps, as well as digital experiences in physical spaces. This role will provide the perfect environment to develop your UX and design skills.

A bit about us

BEOM is a multidisciplinary design studio based in Baltic 39, Newcastle-upon-Tyne. Synergising design and technical expertise we work with brands around the world designing cutting-edge user experiences and visual identities. Being a small and specialist studio gives us the agility to partner and work with larger development teams on projects for blue-chip clients and household brands around the world.

The day-to-day

  • Working with a team, both in-house and remote, on solving complex UX problems and helping to design elegant solutions
  • Generating ideas to bridge the gap between digital and physical brand touch-points
  • Using research to understand target users and build fuller personas
  • Helping to facilitate client UX workshops which will involve understanding the current situation and the vision for the best possible user experience
  • Creating personas, user scenarios and journeys, process flows, information architecture diagrams, wireframes, and the other artefacts to articulate customer-led solutions
  • Creating beautiful executions of UX and UI design
  • Producing design that reflects distinctive and considered brand personality 
  • Communicating a strong rationale for ideas

Your skills and experience

  • Degree level education in design
  • A strong portfolio including examples of experience-led design
  • Strong lateral thinking and design craft
  • Proficient in industry-standard design tools
  • Good presentations skills with the ability to articulate the vision to clients
  • Highly motivated and willing to learn
  • Excellent organisation skills to keep up with the fast-paced nature of our projects
